Please, understand just what this gift,

you've given, means to me,

It gives me back the strength I've lost,

And all my dignity.

You took a stand on my behalf

For that  is what friends do

And know that what you did was right,

For I believe it too.

You cut the leash that held me here,

Now it's time for me to run,

A strong and steady dog,

My pain and struggle done.

Please don't despair my passing

For I won't be far away,

I'll be forever in you heart

Our memories will stay.

I'll be watching over you,
